I really don’t like it when something happens to make me feel like I am not a good mom or that my “motherly instincts” are off. I ended up taking SJ into urgent care today (our doctor didn’t have any openings, so they suggested, based on his symptoms, to bring him into their urgent care). They always say that if your child has a fever for more then 48 hours you need to get him in to a doctor. So based on that, and the way SJ was and had been, and my “motherly instincts”, I took him in. Both the nurse and the doctor were convinced that he had strep, but the test came back negative. UGH! He did have a mild ear infection and so they did give him anti-biotics. So there went $158 and a shiny new bike out the window. :( Maybe I need to get in for a tune up.

Never doubt your mom instincts, even if it doesn’t end up to be exactly what you thought. You know your kids best of all, and always ere on the side of caution. I’ve learned that with all our Dr. experiences. You are a fantastic mom!!
